On November 4, 2019, the maintenance unit at Recology San Mateo unanimously approved a new seven-year contract.
In the first year of the contract, the mechanics see a substantial increase along with full maintenance of benefits and contributions to their Retirement Security Plan, which provides for Health and Welfare benefits for retired employees.
This unit services the second largest Recology fleet in the Local Union and plays a vital role in the daily operations of Recology San Mateo.
“Through bargaining, the Local Union was able to secure the benefits and wages our members deserve for their daily efforts. Fair pay for fair work.
The Local would like to recognize bargaining committee member Josh Viera, who was indispensable for our contract negotiations." said Recording Secretary and lead negotiator Juan Coca.
